Enact

Privacy policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

Your routines, habits and progress stay on your phone. Enact only receives what you share for reading, and keeps the resulting steps, not the original.

Who we are

Enact is run from Denmark and is available worldwide. For anything about your data, email hello@enact.life.

What stays on your phone

Your routines, steps, settings, who you're becoming, run history, streaks and saved sources are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. Deleting the app, or Settings > Start over, deletes them.

What we receive and why

WhatWhyHow long we keep it

Links you share, such as a reel or a videoTo read the speech, caption and on-screen text and turn them into stepsFor a public link, the resulting steps are kept up to 30 days without your account ID, so the next person who shares it gets them instantly
Text you type or paste, including your own habitsTo turn it into stepsThe text itself is not stored. The resulting steps are kept up to 7 days so the app can collect them
Files you upload: PDFs, documents, videosTo read themDeleted as soon as they have been read
A usage log: date, type of source, success or failureFair use and fixing problems12 months
Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, being introduced during testingTo learn which parts of Enact help and to fix crashesUp to 12 months; you will be able to switch usage statistics off in Settings

We never store the transcript or original text of what you share. We do not sell data, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.

Services we use

Enact uses a small number of trusted providers, each only for its task:

Where data leaves the European Union, the transfer is covered by the provider's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for the list of providers at hello@enact.life.

Legal basis

Reading what you share is needed to provide the service you asked for. The usage log, anonymous statistics and crash reports rely on our legitimate interest in keeping Enact working and improving it.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. The next test version adds Settings > Delete my data, which removes everything linked to your account ID from our server. Until then, email hello@enact.life and we will help within 30 days. In the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in Denmark that is Datatilsynet.

Age

Enact is for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Significant changes are shown in the app.
